BROKERING CO-OP
We have always been dedicated to ensuring the success of other farms with lower number
of alpacas as well as encouraging the start-up of other small breeders. With more than
12 years of involvement in the alpaca industry, we realize the importance of networking
and collaborating among smaller breeders. We took the bull by the horns and formed a
brokering cooperative with several of the finest, most reputable small farms in the Northeast.
What does this mean??? Well, each of these farms have somewhere between 2 and 5 alpacas
they wish to market and sell in a given year. All of these alpacas are combined on one
sales list and can be sold individually or in package deals with any other alpaca on the
sales list. We are paid a commission from the seller at the time of the sale
THERE IS
NO FEE FOR THE BUYER! Also, the price of the alpaca is not raised in order to account
for the commission. The price is the same if you went directly to the owner themselves.
So
why purchase from the co-op??? Here are just a few reasons.
- We have a wide variety of alpacas to offer- 25+ alpacas for sale
from all around the Northeast located at one farm.
- All farms in the co-op own only ARI registered alpacas, offer generous financing terms,
use only AOBA sales contracts, and have a long history of customer satisfaction.
- We can accommodate any new breeder's plan and goal for their breeding program.
- We have a sincere interest in the success of our customers. Your success is our success!
- We assure pre- and -post purchase support and always have the time to answer questions.
- We ensure the success of our customers by assisting them in showing and marketing their alpacas.
- Our customers' success and happiness ensures our reputation in the industry.
- All customers are able to join the co-op themselves when the time comes for them to sell alpacas.
You don't have to be big to succeed in the alpaca industry-let us show you how!

I approached the Ferrara's about purchasing 3 female alpacas in May. By July, we had
our starting herd! As first-time buyers, their experienced assessment of these animals
was invaluable. What could have been a prolonged process fraught with indecision, and
possible ending with a poor choice of breeding stock, was easy and successful. Our
venture into the world of alpacas has gotten off on the right foot thanks in large part
to Melissa and Lou!

When I first considered getting into the alpaca business, I went to see Lou and Melissa.
Their years of knowledge and passionate concern for the animals and the future of alpacas
made my decision a "no-brainer". Lou and Melissa cautiously guided me to my purchase of
2 bred females and advised me well and creatively on how to meet my financial limits (or
guidelines). Being an independent business person, I have never dealt with anyone as
fair, honest and genuine as they are. Still, 4 years later, they are an invaluable source
to me. I continually call them with questions as they are my "alpaca encyclopedias", my
"almighty alpaca gurus"!

When we started researching alpacas we found Lou & Melissa Ferrara to be an invaluable
resource. Before we purchased our alpacas they came to our farm to help us decide how to
set up for the animals. They have very patiently answered all our questions (which
have been many). We highly recommend the Ferrara's for their experience, trust and
commitment to helping other farms succeed. Thank you Lou and Melissa!
