Birthing season is right around the corner! Are you ready to assist the dam in the event she has difficulty? Spring and birthing season is a long anticipated time. We want healthy, nursing crias up and running around. If you would like more information about how to know if your dam is in distress, if she is experiencing a uterine torsion, how to reverse a uterine torsion, and what causes a uterine torsion, this seminar may be just the place to gain this information and much more.
Dr. Cheryl DeWitt will guide you through this one day clinic comprised of a morning of lecture on female reproductive/breeding; anatomy and physiology, breeding and pregnancy diagnosis options, gestational development, care of the pregnant dam, normal and abnormal creation, and care of the newborn as well as the high-risk cria.
The afternoon will provide hands-on "wet lab" uterine simulators for registrants to identify the contents of the uterus, discuss proposed delivery plans, identifying and correcting dystocias to deliver the cria safely, emergency training, and a lot of fun.
A course book for participants for later reference is provided. Additional topics covered include:
  • Nutrition
  • Stages of labor
  • Signs that ‘something may be wrong’
  • What you can do during a mal-positioned birth
  • Post partum care
  • Care of your newborn cria
  • The importance of colostrum
  • Lactation
  • Indications of cria complications such as choanal atresia (closed nasal passages), heart or lung problems, hypothermia, diarrhea, limb deformities, hernia and more…..
A light breakfast and lunch will be included in the cost of the seminar.
The cost of the seminar is $175 per person. Space is limited. Registration will be filled on a first come basis. Your reservation is made when payment is made in full and the registration form is received. Click here for the registration form.
We hope you will join us for this important seminar.
